This is a dill pickle. A mighty pretty pickle. Especially when she joins you at the show.

Subject: everyone loves juicy pickles
In our corrupted times it's difficult not to see humor in any food product that seems phallic.
I lived in Texas a couple years back and they sell pickles at concession stands. They wrap it in a napkin and hand it to you that way. I think it may be more popular within the latino population though there.

Subject: Oooh Pretty Pickle..
I dunno,... If I asked for a pretty pickle at the concession stand, I'd get a pop in the old schnoot!
I really have no idea when or why concession stands sold pickles. It's an interesting idea though.

Subject: Nice Idea
It's nice that they tried something different for once, Although It's certainly an odd choice. This ad makes me hungry, So I guess it does it's job.

Subject: still around
I visit drive-ins wherever I can, and many in the midwest and the south still feature pickles. There's even one in Ohio that still plays this ad between features.

It's true, they sell pickles at movie theaters in Texas (they come in a cute little pickle bag). Coming from the East Coast, I thought it was the strangest thing when I first got to TX.

I’ve always been of a fan of the old straight forward commercials, more than the Hi-Tech slick “Get One Now” type.
You can’t get simpler than this!

Subject: Lucky that it is regional
I've lived all up and down the east coast and never saw a friggin pickle in a movie theater... except on a plate with a burger at one of those draft house cinemas where they serve greasy food, cheap pitchers and play 2nd run films. I was born in the town where the first drive in theater was built and I never heard about pickles there either.

Subject: A Southern Thing?
In East Tennessee they sell giant mutant pickles at most theaters. I'm a bit afraid of them though I enjoy normal pickles. I couldn't help notice the strange contradiction of 'sexing up' the pickle as a cute female when she is actually a phallic symbol...

Do they really not sell pickles at the movie theaters that you go to? (you should seriously take note) I'm rarely at the movies, but a girl I was with actually bought me a huge one once. And I'm pretty sure they have them at most theaters here in Texas. Perhaps it's a regional thing. Pickles are yummy.

this was too short. imagine all the tongue-in-cheek humor about pickles if this was longer. and the audio skip at the end kinda made my day. :)

A pickle? As a snack item? Yuck! Why not, "This is a bowl of spinach, a delicious bowl of spinach. Wouldn't a bowl of spinach taste good with your movie?" I can't imagine anyone craving a pickle at the drive-in...not in the front seat, anyways....

Subject: The Pickle as Movie Snack Food?
Clearly this idea didn't take off. While we still buy popcorn and soda today at the theatre, I just don't see people craving a pickle while watching the movie.
